Laura Derrick is South Carolina REALTORS® 2018 President

Laura Derrick, Realtor® at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Columbia, is South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) 2018 president. Derrick was inaugurated in a ceremony at the association’s September annual meeting at the Greenville Hyatt Regency Hotel. Her term is begins this week.

David Kent named 2017 South Carolina REALTOR® of the Year

REALTORS® release August market numbers

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its August housing market data. The numbers indicate that prevailing inventory and sales trends lasted throughout the summer.

REALTORS® release February market numbers

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its February housing market data indicating a continuing trend of price increases and inventory shortages. New listings were up almost seven percent to 9,815 while while pending sales decreased six percent to 6,149. Inventory shrank by six percent to 32,129 units. Prices throughout February were up by seven percent with a median sales price of $180,000.

SC REALTORS® joint conference draws 800 Realtors® across two states

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) 2015 joint annual conference and expo with the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® (NCAR) at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa, September 12-15, 2015 drew more than 800 Realtors® across two states. The event, which marked the third time the states have partnered for annual conference, offered attendees an opportunity to network with colleagues across state lines.

SC REALTORS® Release August 2015 Housing Market Data

New Listings were up 3.9 percent to 9,172 statewide. Pending Sales increased 3.2 percent to 5,991. Inventory shrank 5.8 percent to 39,091 units. Prices moved higher as Median Sales Price was up 6.0 percent to $174,900. Days on Market decreased 11.0 percent to 97 days, the twelfth consecutive month of year-over-year declines.

Realtors® staying busy through summer

According to the U.S. Census, homeownership is at 63 percent for the second quarter of 2015- down one percent from the second quarter of 2014. This is the lowest rate of homeownership since 1967.
