South Carolina REALTORS® Release December Market Data
South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its December 2015 real estate market reports. The data reveals that the South Carolina housing market wrapped up the year on a positive note, with increases in both closed sales and median sales price.
SC REALTORS® Release August 2015 Housing Market Data
New Listings were up 3.9 percent to 9,172 statewide. Pending Sales increased 3.2 percent to 5,991. Inventory shrank 5.8 percent to 39,091 units. Prices moved higher as Median Sales Price was up 6.0 percent to $174,900. Days on Market decreased 11.0 percent to 97 days, the twelfth consecutive month of year-over-year declines.
USDA Announces Funding for Smart Grid and 1,000 miles of line on 80th Anniversary...
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that USDA is providing more than $100 million in loans to build or improve 1,000 miles of electric transmission and distribution lines for rural electric cooperative utilities in four states.
South Carolina's Santee Electric Cooperative, Inc. is receiving $54.8 million to build or improve 605 miles of line for residential and business customers. The loan also includes $3 million for storm damage restoration.
Mercedes-Benz Vans to Invest $500 Million in New Manufacturing Plant in Charleston County
The new production plant in North Charleston, S.C. will supply the North American market with the next-generation Sprinter, creating 1,300 new jobs over the next several years.
Specialty Polymers, Inc. Expanding Chester County Operations
Specialty Polymers, Inc., a privately held manufacturer of water-based emulsion polymers and adhesives, is expanding its existing Chester County operations. The $5.5 million investment will significantly increase the plant’s capacity and generate five new jobs.

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its December 2013 Statewide Market Reports. 2013 proved to be a good year for housing. Home sales and prices were broadly higher across the nation, while foreclosure loads, the number of homes for sale and the number of days it took to sell a home were all much lower. Multiple-offers became commonplace again and prices in many areas, rallied to multi-year highs.
