Laura Derrick is South Carolina REALTORS® 2018 President
Laura Derrick, Realtor® at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Columbia, is South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) 2018 president. Derrick was inaugurated in a ceremony at the association’s September annual meeting at the Greenville Hyatt Regency Hotel. Her term is begins this week.
South Carolina Begins Using Uniform Mortgage Test; 57 State Agencies Now Using the Test
The Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) announced today that the South Carolina State Board of Financial Institutions and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs will begin using the National SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Test with Uniform State Content starting today, bringing the total number of state agencies that use the test to 57.
David Kent named 2017 South Carolina REALTOR® of the Year
South Carolina REALTOR® (SCR) member and Broker in Charge of The Real Buyer’s Agent, David Kent, was named the association’s 2017 REALTOR® of the Year at its annual conference and expo at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, September 1st.
REALTORS® release August market numbers
South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its August housing market data. The numbers indicate that prevailing inventory and sales trends lasted throughout the summer.
REALTORS® release February market numbers
South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its February housing market data indicating a continuing trend of price increases and inventory shortages. New listings were up almost seven percent to 9,815 while while pending sales decreased six percent to 6,149. Inventory shrank by six percent to 32,129 units. Prices throughout February were up by seven percent with a median sales price of $180,000.

More than 400 South Carolina families helped through Realtor® flood program
In October of 2015 South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) in partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®, began offering assistance to South Carolina’s flood victims through the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF). As of December 31st, the program has come to a close and the final numbers have been tallied.

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its December 2015 real estate market reports. The data reveals that the South Carolina housing market wrapped up the year on a positive note, with increases in both closed sales and median sales price.
South Carolina REALTORS® continues flood victim assistance program through December
South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) in partnership with the National Association of REALTORS® has extended its REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) flood assistance program to December 31, 2015. The program was originally set to expire November 30th.

Inventory shrank six percent to 37,453 units, however Prices moved higher as Median Sales Price was up almost eight percent to $174,460. Inventory was down throughout October by 17 percent to 6 months.
