The City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs presents Above, Between, Below at the City Gallery at Waterfront Park March 21 through May 3, 2015, featuring batiks on silk by Mary Edna Fraser. The exhibition, curated by Michael Haga, will open with a reception on Friday, March 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. In addition, the public is invited to attend an artist’s talk by Fraser on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its March statewide housing market numbers revealing that inventory is expected to rise and homes sales increase. New Listings throughout the state were up around five percent to 8,772. Pending Sales increased 13.5 percent to 5,437 and Inventory shrank five percent to 39,320 units.

The new production plant in North Charleston, S.C. will supply the North American market with the next-generation Sprinter, creating 1,300 new jobs over the next several years.
Specialty Polymers, Inc. Expanding Chester County Operations
Specialty Polymers, Inc., a privately held manufacturer of water-based emulsion polymers and adhesives, is expanding its existing Chester County operations. The $5.5 million investment will significantly increase the plant’s capacity and generate five new jobs.

PASSCO COMPANIES ACQUIRES 244-UNIT MULTIFAMILY COMMUNITY IN SOUTH CAROLINA FOR $30.9 MILLION
Passco Companies, LLC has acquired the 244-unit Class A multifamily community Vinings at Laurel Creek for $30.9 million. The newly constructed community, which was completed in 2013, is located in the highly desirable Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson region of South Carolina known as “Upstate,” according to Gary Goodman, Senior Vice President Acquisitions of Passco Companies.
