In addition to financial support, Realtor® members invested thousands of hours of volunteer time to more than 70 different national and localized community organizations including family shelters, senior and children’s programs, animal welfare programs, schools, soup kitchens and military outlets.

“As Realtors®, we live, work, and are active citizens in our community and we understand the importance of raising a family in a home,” said Brenda Hanna, who served as the 2014 president for the Central Carolina Association of REALTORS®. “We set a goal to help our local Habitat for Humanity Chapter in Columbia and last year we were able to donate $50,000 to build a home for a deserving family.”

The Beaufort County Association of REALTORS®, Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS®, Sumter Board, Charleston Trident Association, Western Upstate Association of REALTORS® and the Aiken Board of REALTORS® also donated to Habitat for Humanity builds in 2014.

And, Greenwood Parks and Trails benefited in more than $25,000 from the Greenwood Association of REALTORS® (GAR) for its walking trail at the Grace Street Park project. GAR also funded another $25,000 over the next ten years to assist in the maintenance of the walking trail.

“For the past two years, members have been completely dedicated to our REALTOR® Walking Trail at Grace Street Park. We helped create and are committed to maintaining the walking trail in the midst of this beautiful, publicly accessible, open space in Greenwood,” said Greenwood Association of REALTORS® Association Executive Kathryn West.

The Aiken Board of REALTORS® is on its second year of the House of Cans event food for Golden Harvest Food Bank. “We can’t put a monetary value on the amount of donations collected from Aiken Realtors®, but I can tell you it’s 1,727 pounds in food, and we’re pretty proud of that,” said Aiken Board of REALTORS® Executive Kristyne Shelton.
