COLUMBIA, S.C. – April 14, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Almost 300 members from South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) met with lawmakers at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and South Carolina Statehouse last week to discuss important South Carolina housing issues.

The event included a conference at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center where SCR Leadership spoke on legislation affecting real estate throughout the state along with three state legislators.

“SCR extends its thanks and was privileged to have Representative Todd Rutherford, Representative Gary Simrill and Senator Thomas McElveen speaking on the legislative panel,” said SCR CEO Nick Kremydas.

Following the conference, Realtor® members went to the Statehouse where they met with legislators from their respective districts regarding the issues of homeowners insurance reform, patent trolling and eminent domain.

“SCR encourages its members to get involved in the legislation process in our state. It’s vital to ensure a good quality of life for all of South Carolinians,” said SCR President Randy Harrison.
