Hot season continues for South Carolina real estate

COLUMBIA, S.C. – June 15, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its May market data reports revealing a continuing hot season for real estate.

New Listings were up two percent to 10,456 while Pending Sales increased almost three percent to 6,538. Inventory shrank by eight percent to 41,284.

Prices moved higher as Median Sales Price was up nine percent to $174,900 and homes sold faster with a Days on Market decrease seven percent to 108 days. Months Supply of Inventory was down almost 19 percent to seven months.

“It’s continuing to be a busy season for real estate in South Carolina. We’re excited to see so many families achieving the dream of homeownership,” said SCR CEO Nick Kremydas.

Nationally, the Federal Reserve has held off on raising interest rates with September being the earliest projection.
