South Carolina REALTORS® Release 2011 Year-End Market Numbers
COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 25, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its 2011 Year-End Statewide Market Report and video.
The report indicates that the economy is on the mend. Layoffs have slowed, hiring has accelerated and fewer homes in financial distress are entering the market. Housing demand has stabilized and a steadily expanding construction sector is generating the jobs needed to invigorate recovery. Additional labor market growth combined with record-low mortgage rates have bolstered purchase demand. Armed with cheap money, buyers took to the streets in 2011 and are expected to continue forging new households at a reasonable clip.
The Annual Market Report is attached for your review. A video version of the report is available here, on SCR’s YouTube channel. Please contact local boards for data by area. Questions about the statewide data? Contact Nick Kremydas at 803.772.5206.
